Android O will not be named after Sweet? Here is a clue what it might be called.
As per the Google ritual's, they have been naming their android versions after the sweet or dessert like Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat. And their next android version 8.0, Android O is expected to be have a sweet or dessert name too.
While people are predicting names like Oreo,Oatmeal Cookie,Orange Sorbet...
Google seems to have some other plans
Yesterday Google released the final beta of Android O to developers.
There are no major changes in the release, so the mobile OS remains on
track for release later this summer. We anticipate a release at some
point in August.
.
With the Android O release date moving ever closer, it seems bizarre that we still don't have a name for the operating system. However, an easter egg has been unearthed in the upcoming OS revealing an Octopus - could Google be ditching its sweet-treat naming system in favour of Android Octopus?
The final beta version of Android O has been released, and Google usually hides an Easter egg in the preview hinting at the name of the upcoming version. This time around it's neither sweet, nor treat-y: it's an octopus.
The
Easter egg can be found by heading to Settings > System > About
Phone > Android Version and then holding down on the 'O' logo. Et
voila! An octopus.
But the overwhelming consensus of the culinary world
would indicate that it’s not a dessert! The closest thing we can find to
a dessert version of octopus is a Trolli octopus gummy, but Google’s Easter egg seems to lack the multi-colored hues that the candy treat is known for.
It’s possible the folks at Mountain View are simply
confused. Or maybe Android is switching away from dessert nicknames
entirely. Perhaps the entire thing is an elaborate troll designed to
drive the denizens of the internet mad! Is the black-and-white color
scheme meant to serve as a visual placeholder for an Oreo cookie? We
need answers!
Shocking connection that Android O is also Android version 8.0. Octopi are known for having eight legs. What exactly this means for the mascot of Android O is as yet unclear.
The final version of Android O — whatever it ends up being called — is expected to release sometime later this summer.
